Games of Winter-een-mas Awards - FPS
The Digital Fix's FPS Game of Winter-een-mas 2012 is...
It's hard to believe that Team Fortress 2 is still going strong given that it was released at the far end of 2007, but it has survived the ravages of time better than most and to this day it remains incredibly popular. Bearing the usual hallmarks of quality that are indicative of anything Valve touches, Team Fortress 2 is a deserving winner in our first Winter-een-mas awards and we feel it encapsulates everything that Winter-een-mas is about; getting together with friends and having fun playing games. Team Fortress 2 recently opened itself up to being free to play on the PC and Mac thus bringing the party to everyone, if you haven't given it a try you are certainly missing out. On receiving the award the Team Fortress team from Valve had this to say:
"When the TF2 team first heard that we'd won something, we assumed it was going to be money. But this is nice too. Thanks to everybody at The Digital Fix for honoring Team Fortress 2 with the Best FPS Award. TF2 turns five this year, and it's inspiring to know it's still being played and enjoyed."
To celebrate Winter-een-mas 2012 we at The Digital Fix are supporting a fantastically deserving charity - Child's Play. Child's Play seeks to improve the lives of children in hospitals around the world through the kindness and generosity of the video game industry and the power of play. When gamers give back, it makes a difference!
