Pandaren come to World of Warcraft
Blizzcon - the official convention for fans of Blizzard games drew to a close yesterday, and the biggest news for World of Warcraft fans is that the next expansion has been named, and there will be a new race, and a new class to explore.
Mists of Pandaria will extend the level cap to 90, and allow players to explore the ancient realm of Pandaria, which has remained unspoiled by war as the rest of the world was plummeted into devastation. The fight between Alliance and Horde is also due to escalate just at the time as this new land is discovered.
For years, players have speculated that Blizzard may add the Pandaren race to World of Warcraft as they made their first appearances in the Warcraft games and have been fan favourites ever since. Both Alliance and Horde will have access to Pandaren, who will, at a certain level, need to pick a side.
The fourth expansion to World of Warcraft will also introduce the monk class to the game. Able to heal, tank and provide damage - the monk promises to appeal to many players. Sample skills include flying kicks, rolls and the ability to summon healing statues. They are available to the following races: Human, Forsaken, Tauren, Pandaren, Blood Elf, Draenai, Gnome, Night Elf, Orc and Troll.
In addition Mists of Pandaria will introduce a pet battle system which sounds a little like a Pokemon mini-game for World of Warcraft, and challenge mode dungeons, including timed runs.
There's no date yet, as is usual for Blizzard games, but the Pandaren are definitely coming. You can read more about the expansion here.
