E3 2014: Sony Conference Wrap-Up
Sony opened their show with Destiny, which still looks fantastic. The beta will be available to gamers on July 17 and upon release, Sony will offer a bundle of a white PlayStation 4, a copy of Destiny and a 30 day PlayStation Plus trial.
A new game comes in the form of Entwined, a dual-stick control game where you control two separate characters. To make things even better, this game is available right now on PSN!
inFAMOUS: Second Son is getting some DLC, which comes in the form of inFAMOUS: First Light. You play as Fetch and you do not need the original game to engage with this content. The DLC is scheduled for release in August 2014.
A surprise announcement came in the form of Little Big Planet 3, Sackboy is back! There are four playable characters this time around and gamers will have access to every single level created in the original and Little Big Planet 2 through PSN. The game is scheduled for release in November of 2014.
From Software's new project was leaked early, but it has now been officially announced as Bloodborne. The game will release next year, and the trailer looks absolutely incredible.
Far Cry 4 received a live demo, and frankly it looked fantastic. In a new twist, it was announced that your friends can join you in-game even if they don't own Far Cry 4.
Another unexpected announcement was Dead Island 2, coming from Deep Sliver. While the game is not exclusive to PlayStation, the PS4 version will feature exclusive content.
The most "WTF" announcement of the day was a remake of the original Grim Fandango, which is coming to the PS3 and PS4.
Suda 51 makes weird games, and his new PS4 exclusive looks like it will continue this tradition, Let It Die. This game is slated for a 2015 release, check out the announcement trailer below.
No Man's Sky was the biggest announcement from the VGA Awards last year, and it took to the stage at Sony's conference. It isn't certain over whether this game is a PS4 exclusive or not, but the game still looks absolutely stunning. The trailer below is a must watch.
The Last Of Us Remastered is coming to the PS4 on the 29th July!
Another fantastic announcement was that Grand Theft Auto V is finally coming to the PlayStation 4! The game is slated to release at the end of 2014, and Xbox 360 and PS3 players will be able to transfer their save data over to the PS4 version.
Sony closed their conference with a very quick look at Uncharted 4, which has been re-named to Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. The game will release next year.
Overall, Sony had a very impressive showing. The new IPs look fantastic and finally seeing the likes of Grand Theft Auto V on the PS4 were very welcome. While Sony's first party line-up isn't at its strongest for the end of 2014, 2015 is shaping up to be an incredible year in videogames. But we have to ask, where was The Last Guardian?
