Bethesda announce Fallout 1st - a Fallout 76 subscription and it isn't good value for money

Platforms: Sony PlayStation 4 | Microsoft Xbox One | PC

Having had, what could charitably be described as, a troubled launch Bethesda have launched a subscription plan for Fallout 76. 'Fallout 1st' will offer players access to private worlds and 'scrapboxes', a survival temt, 1650 atoms per month to use in the Atomic Shop and a few exclusives by way of a Ranger Armor outfit and unique icons and emotes.

How much will all of this cost? £11.99 per month or £99.99 per year - that's significantly more than you'd pay for:

  • Xbox Gamepass - which give you access to over 100 games
  • Xbox Live - which gives you whole games every month alongside your online gameplay
  • PSN - which gives you whole games every month alongside your online gameplay
  • A Fortnite Battlepass - which opens up the game for a whole season for less than £10 (usually over two months)

Suffice to say, this isn't particularly good value for money, especially given Fallout 76 has failed to make any significant impact in online gaming.
