19 minutes of Marvel's Avengers gameplay has been officially released

Platforms: Sony PlayStation 4 | Google Stadia | Microsoft Xbox One | PC

During Gamescom 2019, Crystal Dynamics finally released an extensive 19 minute gameplay demo of upcoming superhero romp Marvel's Avengers.

The footage, polished up since its underwhelming behind closed doors showing at E3 2019, shows gameplay from the perspective of each Avenger, with Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow, and Hulk all getting a chance to show off their unique move-sets.

Check out the A-Day gameplay demo below.

The demo sees the Avengers having to deal with an attack on San Francisco, fighting Taskmaster and his goons along the way. It's an incredibly linear demo, which doesn't really do the game any favours, as it all seems very scripted. Though that's probably because this section of the game is very much a tutorial level, and is largely a demonstration of each characters' abilities and how they control.

Marvel's Avengers is set to have a single player story campaign, supplemented by co-op side-missions that up to four players can participate in. The messaging coming from the developer is that there is a definite single player, story-based focus for the title. Music to the ears of Marvel's Spider-Man fans no doubt.

Marvel's Avengers will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia on May 15th, 2020.

Speaking of Marvel's Spider-Man, the developer who brought Spidey to life in the PlayStation exclusive, Insomniac Games, has been officially acquired by Sony, which means they join PlayStation Worldwide Studios family.
