PES 2012 due middle of October
PES 2012 is limbering up for an October 14th release date on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Konami's much maligned football game is returning for the new campaign with several new features as it bids to win back its crown which has slipped in recent years.
The latest release is focusing on improved AI to ensure that teammates work much more realistically to close down space, keep their shape and make more intelligent runs off the ball allowing you to string together moves which would otherwise have broken down in last year's offering.
As well as the usual improvements to animation and graphics the game should also give players more options to beat a man when one-on-one with step overs, feints and tricks now being easier to execute.
Elsewhere Konami are also hyping up a 'ground-breaking' teammate control system which allows players to control two players at once, prompting runs or drawing a defender with one while the other holds the ball up. Its a system which sounds like it bares more than a passing similarity to FIFA 2004's off the ball feature which was quickly dumped in follow up games.
With EA Sports FIFA 12 also on the horizon with a raft of new additions it remains to be seen if there is enough in the locker of Konami's game. However we are set to find out in the middle of October when the game hits the shelves. PES is also due out on PS2, PSP and Wii but news about these formats has yet to surface.
