After a highly competitive and nail-biting Grand Finals at Evo Championship Series 2019, Aksys Games in conjunction with Arc System Works revealed Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r]. The next installment in the Under Night In-Birth 2D fighting game saga is coming to North America “early 2020”. Developed by acclaimed 2D fighting game studio French Bread, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] will feature a new playable character and updates to the game which include nearly a thousand balance changes and new moves. A demo of the game will be available at special events.

“The 2D fighting community has been incredibly supportive, and we are as excited about this new chapter in the Under Night In-Birth series as they are,” says Akibo Shieh, founder and CEO of Aksys Games. “With the introduction of a new character, the entire game has been carefully rebalanced and perfected for the greatest possible anime fighting experience to date.”

Aside from the balance changes and new moves for its existing diverse cast, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late [cl-r] will feature a brand new character, Londrekia, a sword-wielder with an elegant fighting style who is reminiscent of BlazBlue’s Jin thanks to his ice abilities. Londrekia is being touted as a character who is both accessible and easy to pick up for newcomers and has enough depth to satisfy competitive players looking for an edge.

Under Night In-Birth is a fighting game that combines the methodical ground game found in the Street Fighter series with the faster pace and extensive combos and mechanics of anime fighters. The latest version, Late[st], is currently free on Steam for those who have yet to take the plunge and want to try it out.
