Total War: Rome II patch announced
Creative Assembly will be releasing their first Total War: Rome II patch today (Friday 6th September). Recognising the wide variety in hardware specifications, the patch aims (in their words) “to tweak the balancing, AI routines and other features” as well as fix “known instances of crashes due to hardware conflicts alongside several other performance fixes”. Weekly patches are promised hereon and further technical advice is available from the Creative Assembly support forum.
Although we encountered some bugs during our recent review, these were quickly addressed within the embargo period before reviews can be published. From player feedback it’s clear not everyone has had the same luck so hopefully this (and future) patches should address any issues.*
*For the curious, the TDF review rig used an Intel i5 3750K chip (OCd to 4.5Ghz), Sapphire HD 7950 GPU and 8GB RAM. Load temps maxed at 63 degrees Celsius in a Prodigy Bitfenix case using stock case coolers and a Corsair H80 CPU cooler. Graphical settings were Extreme on 1920x1080 monitor.
