PS4 exclusive Concrete Genie gets October release date and a photo mode with timelapse features

Platforms: Sony PlayStation 4

PlayStation 4 exclusive Concrete Genie has finally been given a release date. The beautiful, painting-focussed title will be releasing on October 9th, 2019, and will retail for a surprising £24.99 in the UK, and $29.99 in the US.

The release date is accompanied by a lovely new gameplay trailer. Check it out below.

That's not the only announcement the PlayStation Blog made today, they have also revealed that Concrete Genie will launch with a fully featured Photo Mode, with one key difference. Concrete Genie's Photo Mode will allow players to record timelapses of their hard work painting the town of Denska. This is certainly a feature we could get behind being included in every game.

If you're unaware, Concrete Genie is a new title by developer Pixelopus, published exclusively by Sony on the PlayStation 4. The title sees protagonist Ash taken on a personal, and clearly emotional journey to bring life back to his hometown of Denska by painting it.

The game will also include two PlayStation VR modes that are separate to the main story mode, and focus on painting a blank canvas with your PlayStation Move controllers.

Additionally, a Digital Deluxe Edition of Concrete Genie has been revealed, and will feature a Digital Artbook, the game's soundtrack composed by Sam Marshall, a Pond Design Pack, and a Lighthouse Dynamic Theme to spruce up your PS4 menus. The Digital Deluxe Edition will cost $39.99/£34.99. Both the Standard Edition and Deluxe edition come with the Denska Dynamic Theme when preordering the game.

Concrete Genie launches on October 9th, 2019, exclusively on PlayStation 4.
