The Last of Us Part 2 might have just had a February 2020 release date revealedPlatforms: Sony PlayStation 4 | Sony PlayStation 5
The Last of Us Part 2 is one of the most anticipated games of the current console generation, but with no release date revealed, and PlayStation's lack of an E3 2019 presence, fans have been left wondering when we'll see the conclusion (?) of Joel and Ellie's perilous journey.
Well, if a potential slip-up from Ellie voice actor Ashley Johnson is read into, we could be looking at a release date of February 2020 for The Last of Us Part 2.
During an interview for Critical Role, Johnson is asked when the sequel is releasing, and responds by saying "I think it's coming out in Fe..." before being excruciatingly cut-off by the interviewer. Check out the video for yourselves, the important stuff starts at 1:07:21.
I know, we were so close to getting an answer to the seemingly centuries old question: when, oh when, are we going to get to play The Last of Us Part 2?
This isn't the first time there's been talk of a February 2020 release date, with Kotaku's Jason Schreier tweeting at the end of May that he had heard the game was due to release in late 2019, but may have been bumped to February 2020.
The evidence is mounting that we'll get to play The Last of Us Part 2 early next year, and that is a very exciting prospect.
While PlayStation weren't at E3 this year, plenty of other publishers and developers were, and some top-tier announcements and reveals were made. Check out our E3 2019 Hub for a comprehensive round up of the best news.
