The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel is now in development for Nintendo Switch - watch the first trailer nowPlatforms: Nintendo Switch
Concluding Nintendo's E3 2019 Direct was the announcement that a sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is now in development for Nintendo Switch.
The sequel, which is likely to be a quite a while away, received its very first trailer, showing a much darker, grittier tone than we're used to in Breath of the Wild. Zelda and Link can be seen exploring a cavern underneath Hyrule Castle, approaching a body which gets taken over by an evil entity. Hyrule Castle is then seen lifting out of the ground. Very menacing.
Check out the trailer now.
This was entirely unexpected, even if it is not in any way a surprise that this is what is next for Zelda. The trailer suggests that the sequel will be similar to Majora's Mask, which took the world and framework of Ocarina of Time but remixed the game with a much darker tone.
We're very excited, and Nintendo once again steals the show.
