Just as E3 2019 is heating up, GungHo Online have revealed plans to release remasters of the original Grandia and its sequel, releasing together on Nintendo Switch as Grandia HD Collection, and separately on PC as Grandia HD and Grandia II HD.

GungHo Online have been working on upgraded visuals for both games and are set to show off their work at E3 2019 in the coming days, promising numerous visual upgrades for all versions and widescreen support on PC, among other things.

GRANDIA HD features
- Enhanced details to UI, sprites, and texture art
- Original cinematic videos receiving visual enhancements
- Widescreen support and customizable resolutions (only for PC)
- Steam cards and Achievements (only for PC)
- Audio: Japanese and English
- Language Support: Original English and Japanese plus French and German translation
- Gamepad and keyboard support with re-mappable controls (only for PC)

GRANDIA II HD features
- Enhanced details to UI, sprites, and texture art
- Original cinematic videos receiving visual enhancements
- Widescreen support and customizable resolutions (only for PC)
- Audio: Japanese and English
- Language Support: Original English and Japanese plus New French and German translation

Grandia's combination of unique turn based battling, visuals and epic anime style story telling made it something of a cult classic when it first arrived in the West back in the PS1 era, so it's going to be interesting to see just how much has been done to increase the level of detail on show and how . Personally, I just can't wait to hear the surprisingly decent voice work of Grandia again, take Justin and company over the wall at the edge of the world and quote along with Gadwin, "Dragon King Slice!".
