Platforms: All | Sony PlayStation 4

The PlayStation Blog has announced State of Play, a video showcase which will feature new game announcements as well as highlighting upcoming PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR software.

The first episode of State of Play will air on Monday, 25th March at 9pm GMT / 10pm CET.

The showcase will be live-streamed on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook and will be published as a VOD shortly after the stream ends.

Sid Shuman, Director of Social Media at PlayStation, said that he is "Glad to be able to finally talk about this!" and that Monday's episode is "just the beginning!" as State of Play will be returning throughout the year to keep everyone up to date on PlayStation announcements and upcoming releases.

State of Play's first episode will include game trailers, new game announcements, and new gameplay footage.

The announcement of a Nintendo Direct-style live broadcast for the company has been rumoured since PlayStation pulled out of E3 2019. Nintendo Direct's have become huge industry talking points and the hype surrounding each one must look awfully tempting to PlayStation, so it is no surprise to see them explore this avenue for game announcements.

There is no indication as to whether the live broadcast will be pre-recorded or more of a live, presenter-based show similar to Inside Xbox.

You can be sure that The Digital Fix will be covering everything announced in Monday's State of Play, stay tuned!
