Left 4 Dead creators Turtle Rock announce new co-op zombie shooter Back 4 BloodPlatforms: All | Sony PlayStation 4 | Microsoft Xbox One | PC
Left 4 Dead developer Turtle Rock Studios has announced a new co-operative zombie shooter, Back 4 Blood.
In a press release, Turtle Rock revealed that Back 4 Blood is "designed from the ground up as an original, premium title and marries the best of what made the co-op zombie shooter so successful with new features and state-of-the-art-technology".
In an FAQ on Turtle Rock's website, the studio confirms that Back 4 Blood is a brand new, original IP, and is not Left 4 Dead 3. The FAQ answers a lot of questions that will inevitably be asked; yes, there is a campaign and there is PVP, and no, it is not a zombie battle royale game.
Phil Robb, Co-founder and Creative Director at Turtle Rock Studios says "We are not resting on any past laurels. Our goal is to take all we've learned and push forward. We know that's a tall order". Robb finishes by saying "We know this title has to stand out and we fully intend to make that happen".
Back 4 Blood will release on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 initially. No release date has been announced, but don't expect to see Back 4 Blood in 2019.
Back 4 Blood certainly sounds like a spiritual successor to the Left 4 Dead series, so this should be very exciting news to everyone who has been clamouring for more of that sweet zombie killing for all these years.
