The Best Playstation 4 Games

Sony's fourth console is undoubtedly king of the generation, leaving all challengers in its wake. Not only has it sold the most units of any other console in this generation, it also has the most exclusives and they are some of the best games on the platform.

Read on for our highest rated Playstation 4 games released so far.

Mutant Year Zero: Road To Eden Deluxe Edition Switch Review

The Deluxe Edition of Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden on the Switch is far from the perfect port. The reduction in visual fidelity not only makes the game harder to enjoy, but makes sections of it tougher to complete. With that said, the underlying gameplay stands alongside the best tactical strategy games the Nintendo Switch has to offer, and the bundled Seed of Evil DLC is a welcome addition.

Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers Final Review

As I said before, I cannot recommend Shadowbringers more. The story, visuals, music, vocal performances, and gameplay all combine together to create a phenomenal gaming experience. Final Fantasy XIV has only gotten better over time, and after playing Shadowbringers I have simply no idea how they are going to better this expansion in the future. It really and truly is that good.

Lost Orbit: Terminal Velocity Review

Genuinely fun and cute, with a story line and visuals that will keep you enthralled as you play the short campaign.

Madden NFL 20 Review

Madden NFL 20 might just be the series' best outing to date. Between a less-oppressive Ultimate Team Mode, an excellent player career mode, and more exciting on-the-pitch plays it offers a whole lot of excellent content. Minor tweaks aside, Franchise mode could do with some love next year, but it isn't enough to dull these Friday Night Lights (sorry).

Dragon Quest Builders 2 Review

A sequel that treads very familiar ground whilst remaining fresh and innovative, Dragon Quest Builders 2 is a great title that delivers on both its promise to give the player an immersive narrative, and also in giving them untold freedom to play the game however they want, as long as they can deal with a dumb hunger meter. Building might be bad, but has never felt so good.

Earth Defense Force 5 Review

Earth Defense Force 5 doesn't do much to get away from the series standards of campy story telling and underwhelming graphics, but does improve upon the series' unique appeal by reducing grind, increasing enemy variety and giving soldiers some new tricks to get around the battlefield. There's nothing quite like EDF and this is the definitive entry in the series.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Review

A worthy successor to the legacy laid out by Symphony of the Night that stands on its own with a compelling new universe and highly customizable build system.

Our Rating: 9/10

Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers Review-In-Progress

Despite a consistently high standard in previous expansions, Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers has defied all expectations to better all of them, even at this early stage in the journey. The darkest tale in the ongoing saga has proven to be the most inviting; with some excellent refinements to existing mechanics and some great quality of life improvements. Absolutely essential for Final Fantasy fans and MMO enthusiasts alike.

Sairento VR Review

After a steep learning curve Sairento treats you to a tactical orchestra of blades, bullets and acrobatics. Its a pure joy to dissect each stage while performing amazing feats and killing with style. Its like no other game on PSVR and I highly recommend it.

Irony Curtain: From Matryoshka with Love Review

While not doing much that point and click games have not done before, Irony Curtain does what it does very well. Its very funny, extremely pretty and tells a good story. You cannot ask for much more than that really.

Samurai Shodown Review Review

Solid fighting game mechanics that are easy to pick up yet highly competitive and rewarding to master. Solid online netcode. Disappointing single player offerings.

Our Rating: 8/10

Vacation Simulator Review

Vacation Simulator is without a doubt an amazing follow up to Job Simulator. It brings fresh ideas to the table along with the series trademark humour. Its very fun to play and even more fun to mess around in its varied environments. If you loved the previous game you will love this. Both me and my family were glued to this game the whole time we played it, its a joy to play.

Death's Gambit Review

Death's Gambit takes a slightly less punishing approach to progress than other games in it's sub-genre and is all the better for it. While the vast majority of world building and gameplay concepts are a loving pastiche of Dark Souls, Death's Gambit's balanced challenge, sense of humour and unique visuals allow it to stand on it's own feet and earn a rightful place in the game collections of those souls who are drawn to the fire of the first flame and others who simply enjoy a challenging adventure, laden with mystery.

Judgment Review Review

Detective gameplay mixed in with Yakuza DNA wrapped up in an engaging crime thriller story with superb voice acting and memorable characters.

Our Rating: 9/10

Trover Saves the Universe Review

As long as you don't mind the insane story and the games many profanities you will really enjoy Trover Saves the Universe. Its bad language can be turned off but in my opinion the game is better with it. I don't think it will be to everyone's taste but it's bright, fun and never overstays its welcome. Its VR implementation is very good and never gets in the way of enjoying this wacky adventure. I really enjoyed it and I think most other VR players will too. It's unique and should not be overlooked.

Warhammer Chaosbane Review

Despite some controller woes, Warhammer Chaosbane delivers a solid and robust action RPG experience that is certain to delight both hardcore and casual fans of the genre alike.

Turtle Beach Recon 70 Wired Gaming Headset Review

Value for money and notable performance make the Recon 70 possibly the best budget headphone choice on the market

The Swords of Ditto: Mormo's Curse Review

The Swords of Ditto: Mormo's Curse may have some room for improvement but provides a lot of a joy and endless hours of gameplay. It's fun and darn right adorable and that's enough for me!

Our Rating: 8/10

Unruly Heroes Review

But for its claustrophobic close combat control system and difficulty spikes, Unruly Heroes is a fun and visually appeasing adventure platform worthy of your time.
