Watch the trailer from James Smith's debut, 'Do Something, Jake'

An unemployed introvert, unable to read or write, draws on brilliant ingenuity when the woman he secretly loves is threatened.

Do Something, Jake is the debut feature from Loughborough-based director James Smith, who co-wrote the film with Caroline Spence. It's as low-budget as they come, but check out the brilliant trailer below. The film clearly has a strong identity; quirky and full of character and confidence. Maybe James can follow the footsteps of Shane Meadows. He's looking to get Do Something, Jake into a couple of festivals this year. Soon as we hear where you can see it, we'll let you know.

It may take a while to find out precisely what Jake could do, but it'll be worth the wait.
