The Kid Who Would Be King trailer: A modern day telling of the King Arthur story

Joe Cornish returns with his second film

It’s been quite a while since Joe Cornish gave us Attack The Block, seven years in fact. In the meantime he’s been mostly writing and he finally returns with a new film. It’s a riff on the legend of King Arthur that is set in the present day and you can check out the first trailer for The Boy Who Would Be King above right now.

Alex finds his everyday problems dwarfed by his discovery of the mythical sword Excalibur. Now, with the most powerful sword in history in the hands of the most powerless schoolboy in Britain, Alex and his friends must thwart a medieval villain named Morgana, who is hell-bent on destroying the world.

Joe Cornish directs a cast starring Rebecca Ferguson, Patrick Stewart, Tom Taylor, Rihanna Dorris, Dean Chaumoo and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett.

The Kid Who Would Be King opens in UK cinemas on February 15th 2019.
