Films that make you go hmmm... then ahhhh!! then hmmm... again before finally exclaiming: WHAT THE F@#% IS GOING ON NOW?? That is the way of the WTF film, and that’s the topic for this week’s podcast! We’ve perused our collective film collection to nominate three movies that bend the laws of taste and logic to deliver something that’s baffling, challenging, and completely unique in their own way.

First up is Andrzej Zulawski’s Possession, a tumultuous drama where the breakdown of a marriage manifests itself in, shall we say, “tentacular” fashion! Next is Zardoz, the film that put James Bond in a red nappy and had him roaming the Irish countryside looking for lesbians to turn through sheer machismo alone (god bless you John Boorman!). Finally it’s Panos Cosmatos’s Beyond the Black Rainbow, a moody pastiche of 80s cinema and 70s sci-fi that was described by the director as “a film that is a sort of imagining of an old film that doesn’t exist”. Now if that doesn’t make you go “WTF!” then I don’t know what will!
