Digital Fix FilmCast Vol 6: Guillermo Del Toro Special

Just as the transfer window closes, the FilmCast is pleased to announce the signing of Mr Robert Bayley for an undisclosed, and frankly fictional, fee. You may know Rob from blogs like Goats in the Machine and his sterling work on the world wide web, and he joins midfield maestro Matt Shingleton and defensive stalwart John White in an exciting new formation for our film podcast.

This time, we oil the hinges and clear out those old copies of Country Life and Health and Efficiency from the Digital Fix Hall of Fame in order to celebrate the modern day behemoth of fantasy film that Google translate calls Billy Bull. From his feature debut, Cronos, to his recent blockbuster, Pacific Rim, we tell you why Guillermo Del Toro is worthy of the honour of being the inaugural inductee to our august gallery of cinematic merit.

Here at The Fix, we've extensively covered the great man and you can find our reviews of the films he has produced and directed here

If you'd like some visual evidence of the mans greatness you can jog your memory using these trailers:

Blade 2

Devil's Backbone

Pan's Labyrinth

Hellboy 2

and Pacific Rim

Do let us know any thoughts you have on Guillermo, and please suggest who else we should bring in to our Hall of Fame. Our next podcast will be looking at controversial films.

We need your help

Running a website like The Digital Fix - especially one with over 20 years of content and an active community - costs lots of money and we need your help. As advertising income for independent sites continues to contract we are looking at other ways of supporting the site hosting and paying for content.

You can help us by using the links on The Digital Fix to buy your films, games and music and we ask that you try to avoid blocking our ads if you can. You can also help directly for just a few pennies per day via our Patreon - and you can even pay to have ads removed from the site entirely.
