Yesterday trailer: First look at Danny Boyle's and Richard Curtis's Beatles film

Cinema never seems to get bored of making films about The Beatles. Just the other week Peter Jackson announced he would be helming a new documentary using 55 hours of footage of The Beatles’ Let It Be recording sessions. Danny Boyle and Richard Curtis have also teamed up to make Yesterday, a musical comedy based around some of the group's most famous songs, which is set for release later this year. Expect this to follow in the footsteps of The Greatest Showman and others with a number of sing-a-long screenings. The first trailer for Yesterday has just been dropped and you can check it out above.

The film is about a struggling musician who realises he’s the only person on Earth who can remember The Beatles.

Boyle directs while Curtis is on script duties, with the cast featuring Himesh Patel, Lily James, Ana de Armas, Kate McKinnon and Ed Sheeran.

Yesterday opens in UK cinemas on June 20th.
