WBTV 50th Anniversary Wave 1 in February - Extra features revealed

Celebrating 50 years of Warner Brothers Television Warner Home Video will be releasing four waves of R1 DVD releases in 2005. You can expect these waves to come in February, June, September and November with details on the first wave below. An interesting incentive and one that may only be available to in store consumers are exclusive commemorative DVDs inside specially marked packages, featuring television episodes of never-before-released favourites. Though subject to change we are told there will be 15 editions over the year (check out the image following details of the first wave below)...

Wave 1 makes its debut on 8th February 2005. Priced at $29.98 SRP each are...

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air: The Complete First Season - Will Smith stars as a teenager from inner city Philadelphia who's sent to California to live in with his wealthy relatives in the hopes that they will "straighten him out and teach him some good old-fashioned values," but Will soon takes his rightful place as The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

The 25 episodes run 587 minutes on this 4-disc DVD with special features that include “Back-to-Bel-Air: A Fresh Look”, a retrospective documentary with stars, producers and crew.

Murphy Brown: The Complete First Season - Candice Bergen stars as Murphy Brown, an outspoken TV journalist, who along with her hilariously quirky cohorts of the top-rated newsmagazine show, FYI, struggles to handle personal and professional problems with humor and insight.

The 22 episodes run 535 minutes on this 4-disc DVD with extras that include:

  • "Murphy Brown: An F.Y.I. Exclusive" looks back at season one and how it all began with interviews by Creator Diane English, Candice Bergen and other cast members

Night Court: The Complete First Season - Disorder in the Court! That's the order of the day when a parade of zany--and bizarre--characters passes before a rather unconventional and unpredictable judge in this hilarious sitcom.

This 2-disc collector's set includes the first 13 half-hour episodes of the hit series plus special features:
  • "Night Court: Comedy's Swing Shift," a featurette on the origins of "Night Court" by Creator/Executive Producer Reinhold Weege and Harry Anderson (RT 18:00)

Full House: The Complete First Season - Full House, the ever-popular family-friendly sitcom about a recent widower (Bob Saget) who takes over raising his three daughters with the help of his wife's brother (John Stamos) and his best friend (Dave Coulier), is finally coming to DVD! The series launched the careers of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

The 22 episodes run 547 minutes on this 2-disc DVD with extras that include:
  • Original unaired pilot episode "Our First Show" with John Posey in place of Bob Saget
