Watch the first clip from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

A couple of new TV ads have surfaced over the past few days and now Disney have released the first official clip from the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

We can expect more of these to arrive in the coming weeks as the countdown to the end of the Skywalker saga gathers pace. Very little is known about what will happen in the ninth film, with director J.J.Abrams telling EW in a recent interview that “The stakes are all or nothing with this film.” He went on to say, “The [trailers] that have come out are scratching the surface of what the movie is.” Which is only to be expected, given this will put a seal on over forty years of filmmaking and probably tease the path the next set of films will embark upon.

A new 'Special Look' video was also uploaded to the Star Wars YouTube channel, looking back on the cultural impact of the films over the past four decades, which you can check out at the bottom of this post.

The ninth film arrives in December and will star Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, Domhnall Gleeson, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Lupita Nyong'o, Billie Lourd, Kelly Marie Tran, John Boyega and Billy Dee Williams.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will open in UK cinemas on December 19 and in the US a day later.
