Warner 'Two Disc Special Edition' line

Warner Home Entertainment have announced their new Two Disc Special Edition line that will debut on September 24th with five titles (see below for full details) and is set to continue with 10-12 new titles each year from 2003 onwards.

Below we have the full details on the first five 2-disc special editions due from Warner on September 24th, each carrying a retail price of $29.95....

Singin' in the Rain will be presented in the original 1.33:1 Full Screen aspect ratio with an all-new English DD5.1 Surround remix while a French DD2.0 Stereo track will also be present. Extra features are plentiful and include two audio commentaries, the first of which is introduced by Debbie Reynolds and includes director Stanley Donen, Rudy Behmer and screenwriters Betty Comden and Adolph Green, while the second features new audio interviews with Donald O'Connor, Cyd Charisse, Rita Moreno, director Baz Luhrmann and Kathleen Freeman. Also present on this set is a 30-minute documentary on the making of the film entitled What a Glorious Feeling, a second 96-minute documentary on the career of producer and songwriter Arthur Freed is also present, as is the deleted number You Are My Lucky Star, plus you will also find additional soundstage recordings, a still gallery and trailers.

Unforgiven is presented in 2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen with both English and French DD5.1 Surround Audio tracks. Extra features comprise of an audio commentary by Clint Eastwood biographer Richard Schickel; Schickel's retrospective featurette Eastwood on Eastwood, additional featurettes All on Account of Pullin' a Trigger and the behind-the-scenes Eastwood & Co. Making Unforgiven which includes new interviews with the cast. You will also find a full episode of the television series Maverick 'It's Duel at Sundown' which features Eastwood on the disc while the extra features list is made complete by an awards list, filmographies, and trailers.

Amadeus is presented in 2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen with English DD5.1 and DD2.0 surround audio tracks. This release will feature the new Director's Cut of the film that recently received a limited re-release and includes 20 minutes of additional footage. You will also find a new audio commentary by director Milos Forman and writer Peter Shaffer, The Making of Amadeus 37-minute documentary, filmographies, awards list, and original and reissue theatrical trailers.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is presented in 1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen with English DD5.1 and French DD2.0 Surround Audio tracks. Extra features include an audio commentary with director Milos Forman and producers Michael Douglas and Saul Zaentz, The Making of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest 48-minute documentary by writer Ken Kesey, 8 deleted scenes, filmographies, awards list, and trailers.

True Romance will feature the Unrated cut of the film presented in 2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen with a full compliment of English soundtracks available in DD5.1, DTS and DD2.0 Surround while you will also find no less than three new audio commentaries featuring director Tony Scott, screenwriter Quentin Tarantino, actors Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette, plus additional commentaries with cast members Dennis Hopper, Val Kilmer, Brad Pitt and Michael Rapaport. Also present is a branching feature with access to storyboards throughout the film, a behind-the-scenes multi-angle featurette, the original 1993 featurette, 30 minutes of deleted scenes, an alternate ending with optional commentary, animated photo and publicity galleries, filmographies, trailers, and a DVD-ROM viewer with access to the script, additional storyboards and notes throughout the film!
