Warner Bros. & DC Announce Release Dates For Nine Films

Seemingly locked forever in a game of one upmanship are DC and Marvel's cinematic universes. A short while ago, Marvel announced the release dates for a set of, so far, unspecified films.

Not to be outdone, DC have now gone and done exactly the same. Only this time around, DC & Warner Bros. have announced nine unspecified films to be released over the next five years.

The dates are as follows:

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - March 25th 2016

Untitled DC Film - August 5th 2016

Untitled DC Film - June 23rd 2017

Untitled DC Film - November 17th 2017

Untitled DC Film - March 23rd 2018

Untitled DC Film - July 27th 2018

Untitled DC Film - April 5th 2019

Untitled DC Film - June 14th 2019

Untitled DC Film - April 3rd 2020

Untitled DC Film - June 19th 2020

It should also be noted that Warner Bros. have announced a further two dates for "event films" on November 16th 2018 and November 20th 2020. It would also seem that these "event films" have nothing to do with DC and are likely linked to other major franchises currently under the Warner Bros. name.

Speculation has already begun regarding which films will be filling these spots, with Wonder Woman, Batman and a Man of Steel sequel seeming likely. Other candidates are a stand alone Shazam film, which will star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, while an adaptation of Sandman starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt has also been confirmed to be in the works.

Some online speculators are even suggesting that the Justice League film will be with us sooner than we think, and could well be the second film to come out in 2016 after the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
