Dreamcatcher, which tells the story of four friends who each acquire psychic powers during a fateful day of their childhood, was adapted for the screen from Stephen King’s New York Times best-selling novel by two-time Academy Award®-winner William Goldman (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, All the President’s Men) and Lawrence Kasdan (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Return of the Jedi). Kasdan also directed and produced the film, and Goldman has worked on other Stephen King adaptations, including Misery and Hearts in Atlantis.
Best known for his masterful supernatural storytelling, Stephen King has penned numerous novels which were adapted for the screen including The Shining, Misery, The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. Dreamcatcher, “like Carrie and The Shining, has scenes you’ll remember for the rest of your life.”
Dreamcatcher stars Academy Award®-nominee Morgan Freeman (The Shawshank Redemption, Along Came a Spider), Jason Lee (Vanilla Sky, Almost Famous), Tom Sizemore (Black Hawk Down, Saving Private Ryan) and Donnie Wahlberg (HBO’s Band of Brothers and TV’s Boomtown).
