Villains trailer: Bill Skarsgård and Maika Monroe pick the wrong house to break into

It's that time of year when the trailers are coming thick and fast as films picked up at Sundance and SXSW prepare for release, while others appearing at the likes of FrightFest, Venice, Locarno, Telluride, New York, London and TIFF start to raise their heads. Villains looks like a lot of fun, showing us two house invaders who live to regret ever breaking into the home of a strange family. Bill Skarsgård has really made a name for himself in the past couple of years in the It films and here the make-up maybe off but the set-up is no less wacky. This went down very well with the critics at SXSW and now you can watch the trailer for Villains above too see what you think.

Mickey and Jules are lovers on the run, headed southbound for a fresh start in the Sunshine State. When their car dies after a gas station robbery, they break into a nearby house looking for a new set of wheels. What they find instead is a dark secret and a sweet-as-pie pair of homeowners who will do anything to keep it from getting out.

Dan Berk and Robert Olsen wrote and directed the film, with Maika Monroe starring alongside Skarsgård and Jeffrey Donovan and Kyra Sedgwick also starring.

Villains gets a US release on September 20, although we're not sure if it will make it over to the UK at this point.
