Three from Warner
Warner Home Video have announced three new titles for Region 2 DVD release in the coming months.
First out of the starting blocks will be Showdown In Little Tokyo which sees Brandon Lee and Dolph Lundgren teaming up to take on LA's underworld drug lords. In addition to his starring role, Lee also choreographed the fight scenes so martial arts fans will certainly get something out of the film. The DVD is farly bog-standard, we get a 1.85:1 transfer, Dolby Surround soundtrack and a trailer. The retail price is £12.99 and the disc is due on 18 June.
On the same day we get Paul Newman and Elizabeth Taylor starring in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Another of Warner's budget £12.99 range, this one features both full-screen and anamorphic 1.85:1 widescreen transfers (the disc is two-sided) and two 'rarely-seen' trailers.
Finally, on 9 July we have (the frankly laughable) Bless The Child. Kim Basinger and Christina Ricci star in this tale of a girl with extra-ordinary psychic powers. The DVD is one of Warner's more expensive £19.99 releases and will feature a 2.35:1 anamorphic transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, a commentary by director Chuck Russell and visual effects supervisor Joel Hynek, interviews with the cast and crew and a theatrical trailer.
