Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri announced as Closing Gala Film for 61st BFI London Film Festival

Lastest news from the forthcoming BFI London Film Festival

As the 61st BFI London Film Festival draws closer, more information is starting to come out about the line-up, as is the norm around this time of year. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri has just been announced as the Closing Night gala on Sunday October 15th.

Directed by Martin McDonagh (In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths), it tells the tale of Mildred Hayes (Frances McDormand) who, in desperation at the lack of progress on her daughters murder case, erects three billboards in the hope of pressurising local police chief William Willoughby (Woody Harrelson).  It soon upsets most of the town and in particular Sam Rockwell’s second-in-command Officer Dixon.

The 61st BFI London Film Festival – in partnership with American Express® – takes place from Wednesday 4 October to Sunday 15 October 2017. The full Festival programme will be announced on Thursday 31 August 2017. Tickets go on sale 14 September but BFI Members’ priority booking opens a week earlier, so you should probably just join the BFI. Head the to BFI website for full details.
