The Sonic The Hedgehog movie has been pushed back to 2020

Following widespread criticism over the CGI design of the titular character, the Sonic The Hedgehog movie has already been sent back to have the character 'reimagined' ahead of release. Now director, Jeff Fowler has announced that the film has been pushed back to 14th February 2020. We can't think of a better film for Valentine's Day.

There was concern that the recreation of effects for the character might cause unnecessary work for the VFX team who would be stretched to do all of the work ahead of the film's original release date.

The decision to postpone the release of the film to address concerns certainly seems like the best option all around.
