The Saddest Music in the World (R2) in June

Soda Pictures have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of The Saddest Music in the World for 27th June 2005 priced at £19.99. ‘If you’re sad and like beer, I’m your lady’ says Isabella Rossellini starring as a beer baroness who, at the height of the Great Depression, sponsors a contest to find the world’s saddest tune in this darkly comic, dreamy, dizzy musical. Based on an original screenplay by Booker prize-winner Kazuo Ishiguro (Remains of the Day) the DVD also features Guy Maddin’s acclaimed featurette ‘Cowards Bend the Knee’.
