The November trailer will stay in your mind for days

If you enjoy a bit of folklore, magic, fantasy, horror and gorgeous black and white photography, then the trailer for November should be enough to wet the palette.

In this tale of love and survival in 19th century Estonia, peasant girl Liina longs for village boy Hans, but Hans is inexplicably infatuated by the visiting German baroness that possesses all that he longs for. For Liina, winning Hans’ requited love proves incredibly complicated in this dark, harsh landscape where spirits, werewolves, plagues, and the devil himself converge, where thievery is rampant, and where souls are highly regarded, but come quite cheap. It begs the question - is existence worth anything if it lacks a soul?

Estonian director Rainer Sarnet has adapted Andrus Kivirähk's novel Rehepapp with a cast featuring Rea Lest, Jörgen Liik, Arvo Kukumägi, Katariina Unt and Taavi Eelmaa.

November has been doing the festival circuit for the past year and is getting a limited release in the US later this month. Hopefully it will pick up a distributor so we get to see it on the big screen in the UK later in 2018.

We need your help

Running a website like The Digital Fix - especially one with over 20 years of content and an active community - costs lots of money and we need your help. As advertising income for independent sites continues to contract we are looking at other ways of supporting the site hosting and paying for content.

You can help us by using the links on The Digital Fix to buy your films, games and music and we ask that you try to avoid blocking our ads if you can. You can also help directly for just a few pennies per day via our Patreon - and you can even pay to have ads removed from the site entirely.
