The New Mutants trailer: A new breed of superheroes must face their fears in order to grow

If you remember, The New Mutants was originally supposed to arrive in April 2018. The date has been pushed back time and again and the purchase of 20th Century Fox by Disney delayed things further, with the film now scheduled for release in early April. 2019 wasn't a great year at the box office for Fox and it was believed the bigwigs at Disney wanted director Josh Boone and his team to re-engineer the film accordingly to ensure a strong return. However despite rumours of reshoots, a couple of days ago Boone said the film will be released in its original form, replying to a fan on Instagram with: "I wouldn't be promoting it here if it wasn't." Either way, Disney will be hoping it fares better than the disaster that was Dark Phoenix - especially as it is intended to kick start another raft of films. Watch the trailer for The New Mutants above.

The New Mutants is an original horror thriller set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.

The mutants are led by Alice Braga as Cecilia Reyes, Anya-Taylor Joy as Magik, Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane, Charlie Heaton as Cannonball, Henry Zaga as Sunspot and Blu Hunt as Mirage.

The New Mutants arrive in US cinemas on April 3 and on April 8 in the UK.
