The Mule trailer: Clint Eastwood stars and directs this tale of an OAP drug trafficker
We've become more used to Clint Eastwood directing than acting in recent years but The Mule sees him take on both duties, starring in a lead role for the fist time in six years. He has been incredibly prolific behind the camera with this being his 19th film in 20 years and 37th since Play Misty For Me in 1971. The film is based on the true story of Leo Sharp who was a World War II veteran who became a drug dealer and courier in his 80s. It's a well edited trailer and it looks like one to watch when it arrives next year. Check out the first trailer for The Mule above to see more.
Earl Stone is a man in his 80s who is broke, alone and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. After being assigned a menacing handler, Stone also attracts attention from DEA agent Colin Bates.
Eastwood directs a Nick Schenk (Gran Torino) script, with the cast also starring Taissa Farmiga, Bradley Cooper, Michael Peña, Laurence Fishburne and Dianne Wiest.
The Mule opens in the US mid-December and will probably arrive in the UK in January or February 2019.
