The Machinist (R2) in August - Menus added

Tartan Video have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of The Machinist for 1st August 2005 priced at £15.99. Trevor Reznik is a troubled man. Gaunt and emaciated, he has been unable to sleep for a year. He’s haunted by a nightmare he can’t awake from, a nightmare that threatens to devour his identity. Fighting against anxiety, paranoia, fear and guilt, he’s fighting to unravel the dark secrets of his past before they consume him forever.

Brad Anderson’s The Machinist is a dark psychological thriller which has picked up a trail of international awards and critical acclaim since its Sundance Festival premiere. This haunting fable, written by Scott Koser (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Amityville Horror), dwells in the same shadowy realm as Polanski and David Lynch with echoes of Memento, Peeping Tom, and Donnie Darko. Tartan’s disc includes not only a full commentary by Anderson but also an exclusive interview with him, discussing some of the themes and influences.
