The Lodge trailer: This Sundance psychological horror will creep you out
Early news coming out of Sundance back in January pitched The Hole in the Ground as the next big indie horror to look out for this year. Unfortunately, that was way off the mark. However, by the time you get to the end of the first trailer for The Lodge your heart will be pumping, the hairs on the back of your neck standing up and you'll be pretty damn excited about getting to see this one. It's made by directors Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz - who five years ago gave us the creepy Austrian horror, Goodnight Mommy. That had a good set-up but was left a little wanting in its execution. This is their first English language film and it looks very good at this point. Take a look for yourself and watch the trailer for The Lodge above.
In this psychologically chilling slow burn, a young woman and her reticent new stepchildren find themselves isolated in the family’s remote winter cabin, locked away to dredge up the mysteries of her dark past and the losses that seem to haunt them all.
Fiala and Franz also wrote the script, with the cast starring Alicia Silverstone, Riley Keough, Richard Armitage and Jaeden Martell.
The Lodge is set for a US release later this year, with no news yet on UK date.
