The Last Seduction SE in June
Network have announced the UK DVD release of The Last Seduction (Special Edition) for 12th June 2006 priced at £15.99. Linda Fiorentino (Men in Black, Dogma, After Hours) stars as the cunning and conniving femme fatale Bridget Gregory/Wendy Croy – a broad who wants it all, and doesn’t care who she tramples on to get it. Bridget persuades doctor husband Clay (Bill Pullman – Independence Day, Lost Highway) to sell medicinal cocaine to drug dealers for a cool one million dollars, but Bridget decides to run off with the proceeds and her partner is left to face the music in the form of a violent and impatient loan shark. While hiding out in small-town America waiting for the heat to cool down she embarks upon a passionate affair with local nice guy Mike (Peter Berg – Collateral, Copland, Chicago Hope) and hatches an elaborate scheme that involves cheating husbands, angry wives, insurance policies…and murder.
Directed by respected independent director John Dahl (Rounders, The Great Raid, Red Rock West), The Last Seduction won a number of awards for Fiorentino’s powerful performance, including Best Actress at the Independent Spirit Awards, the London Critics Circle Film Awards and the New York Film Critics Circle Awards. She was also nominated for a BAFTA, yet missed out on an Oscar-nomination due to the film being released on network television before receiving a theatrical launch – making it ineligible due to Academy rules.
