The JSA confirmed as appearing in Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam
Last week we learned that Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam would be arriving in cinemas on December 22, 2021 (which is only 5 days after the new Avatar film). And while it will focus on the DC superhero, a number of other key players will also be making an appearance.
Speaking with Screenrant, Johnson revealed more about what to expect in the film, with the introduction of the Justice Society of America, aka the JSA, now confirmed as part of the story. When asked about the team, Johnson responded with: “JSA. We will introduce you to that, the world to JSA,”
Comic book fans have reason to be excited as it will mean the likes of Green Lantern (not Ryan Reynolds), The Flash (not Ezra Miller), Hawkman, Doctor Fate, the Atom, the Hourman, the Spectre and potentially more will make themselves known. Those hoping for Shazam to make an appearance are likely to be left disappointed. Although if the Black Adam film is a success, it could well happen down the line.
Johnson went on to say: “Without giving too much away, it’s not in the plans right now. I think the approach that we’re talking I feel really good about, and all of the filmmakers do too as well. It’s an origin story and that’s where we start it and we root it, and then we build out from there. Now, not to say Shazam isn’t on my radar. Of course, Shazam is, but so is all of DC.”
Black Adam starts production next summer and arrives at the end of 2021.
