The Funhouse and Deadly Blessing in October
Arrow Films have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Tobe Hooper’s The Funhouse and Wes Craven’s Deadly Blessing on 29th October 2007.
On UK DVD for the first time, Tobe Hooper’s The Funhouse (£15.99 RRP) is a reworking of the ‘old dark house' story. After an evening having fun at a travelling carnival, two teenage couples on a double date decide to spend the night hidden inside the funhouse amongst the fake goblins, skeletons and monsters. But the hi-jinks soon turn into a living nightmare when they witness the murder of the carnival's fortune-teller, Madame Zena at the hands of the showground barker's freakish son, Gunther, and find themselves being stalked by a grotesque creature more terrifying than anything the funhouse itself has to offer.
Also on UK DVD for the first time is Deadly Blessing (£12.99 RRP), one of Wes Craven’s earlier efforts which is presented complete with the film's original and much talked about finale which was controversially cut from the version released in UK cinemas.
