The full line-up for the Cannes Film Festival 2019 has been announced

The full line-up for the 2019 Cannes Film Festival was released a short time ago, confirming the opening film and the 18 others competing for the Palme d'Or.

It's another strong line-up this year, with the likes of Jim Jarmusch, Pedro Almodovar, Boon Joon Ho, Ken Loach, Terrence Malick and the Dardenne brothers all aiming for the big prize.

We’re still not sure if Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will be ready in time to compete, and rumours are that if not, Greta Gerwig’s Little Women will take its place.

Werner Herzog's new film will be shown as a special screening, and Abel Ferrara also returns to the festival this year, as will Asif Kapadia with his new documentary.

Alejandro G. Iñárritu will be serving as President of the festival’s official competition jury. Cannes starts on May 14th and ends on the 25th.
