Fox Home Entertainment have announced the UK DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of The Day the Earth Stood Still on 20th April 2009. In this remake, Keanu Reeves stars as Klaatu, a humanoid alien who comes to Earth to exterminate the human race before the planet succumbs to impending disaster. When the government responds with hostile force, the fate of humanity lies with a young scientist (Jennifer Connelly) who must embark on a high-stakes mission to convince the entity that mankind is worth saving...

There is no mention of a digital copy or inclusion of the 1951 original with either DVD or Blu-ray Disc (which the US releases will have for a limited time).
