Fox Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of The Day the Earth Stood Still (Special Edition) on 2nd December 2008 priced at $19.98 SRP. Directed by Robert Wise and starring Patricia Neal and Michael Rennie, this 1951 sci-fi classic arrives on DVD timed to the theatrical release of the remake starring Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly.

A two-disc special edition, features include:
