The Art of Racing in the Rain trailer: Milo Ventimiglia and Amanda Seyfried star in an adaptation of a New York Times best seller

Based on Garth Stein's 2008 New York Times best seller, which graced the list for an impressive 156 weeks, The Art of Racing in the Rain has now been turned into a Hollywood movie. In a world of dog lovers, if you can pen something half-decent about our four-legged friends, chances are you are onto a winner. From 101 Dalmations to A Dog's Purpose, the same can be said about film fans too, so chances are this one will do pretty well at the box office. Through his bond with his owner, Denny Swift, an aspiring Formula One race car driver, Enzo has gained tremendous insight into the human condition and understands that the techniques needed on the racetrack can also be used to successfully navigate the journey of life. The film follows Denny and the loves of his life — his wife, Eve, their young daughter Zoe, and ultimately, his true best friend, Enzo.

Simon Curtis (Goodbye Christopher Robin) directs, with the cast starring Milo Ventimiglia, Kevin Costner, Amanda Seyfried, Gary Cole and Kathy Baker.

The Art of Racing in the Rain opens on August 9 in the US, followed by November 8 in the UK.
