Taxi Driver R2 SE in August
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Taxi Driver (2-Disc Special Edition) on 13th August 2007 priced at £15.99. In Martin Scorsese’s 1976 classic Robert De Niro plays Travis Bickle, a traumatized Vietnam War veteran who takes a job as a night-time taxi driver in New York City. When he encounters a 12-year-old prostitute named Iris (Jodie Foster), controlled by a pimp named Sport (Harvey Keitel), Travis is determined to "rescue" Iris, and does so, in a bloodbath that is unsurpassed even in the films of Scorsese.
Boasting exclusive new packaging and packed with never-before-seen extras, including an introduction by Martin Scorsese, two feature length commentaries and brand new documentaries and featurettes, Taxi Driver Special Edition is a glowing new version of one of the most important films ever made.
