Suspiria teaser trailer: Dakota Johnson stars in Luca Guadagnino‘s remake

Footage for Luca Guadagnino's ambitious take on Dario Argento's Suspiria played at CinemaCon in late April sending the crowd into something of a frenzy. Expectation levels have been building and you have to admire Guadagnino for having the nerve to take on such a highly respected classic. What is noticeable in the trailer is he has wisely avoided the same use of colour and gone for his own aesthetic. How it all comes together remains to be seen but the trailer has been nicely cut to create an unnerving atmosphere that certainly bodes well. Watch the teaser trailer for Suspiria now to see what you think.

As a darkness builds at the centre of a world-renowned dance company, its artistic director (Tilda Swinton), a young American new to the troupe (Dakota Johnson), and a grieving psychotherapist (Lutz Ebersdorf) become entangled in a bloody, sighing nightmare.

Chloë Grace Moretz and Mia Goth also star, with original Suspiria actress Jessica Harper also making an appearance. Thom Yorke provides the soundtrack (although Goblin's original score still haunts today), while Sayombhu Mukdeeprom (Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives) provides cinematography.

Suspiria will be released in UK cinemas on November 2nd 2018.
