Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker official trailer: 9 films and 42 years later the Skywalker saga comes to an end
Will Rey be unveiled as a Skywalker? Could she turn to the dark side (probably not as they teased the same red-light saber thing in the final Last Jedi trailer)? Will an already toxic section of fans find more reasons to cry this Christmas (hopefully)? There’s plenty of questions to be answered in the final instalment of the Skywalker saga and there’s only two months left until we have the answers.
The little we do know about The Rise of Skywalker is that time has moved on since The Last Jedi as the film does not pick up immediately where we left off. Palpatine has already announced his return and could Snoke also make an appearance after being so brutally dispatched last time? In terms of new cast members, Keri Russell as Zorri Bliss, Richard E. Grant as Allegiant General Pryde and Naomi Ackie as Jannah and maybe Matt Smith as a yet-to-be-revealed character, are the ones to look out for.
Another question worth posing is, could The Rise of Skywalker possibly top the box office record set this year by Endgame? It has a longer and more established history and as the concluding part of a 42-year saga, it stands every chance. Either way, Disney will be rubbing their hands with glee. So far we had the teaser revealed back in April, followed by another glimpse following D23 and now we get the full trailer for The Rise of Skywalker. Hit play above.
