Spider-Man 3 will see Marvel and Sony resolving their differences after all
Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have announced that Kevin Feige will indeed return to produce the third Spider-Man film set within the MCU with a release scheduled for 16th July 2021.
The two companies had previously parted company due to disagreements over the financing and profit share of upcoming films in the partnership but it would appear that the wounds have healed and Spidey will not only get another film of his own that will part of the MCU, but he'll also be able to appear in other upcoming MCU films as before.
“I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it,” said Feige in a statement. “Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”
Amy Pascal also released a statement saying “This is terrific, Peter Parker’s story took a dramatic turn in ‘Far From Home’ and I could not be happier we will all be working together as we see where his journey goes.”
