South Park returns to UK DVD this October

Paramount Home Entertainment have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of South Park: The Complete Fifth Season on 22nd October 2007. Featuring 14 episodes South Park Season 5 is available for the first time here in the UK as a 3-disc collector’s edition. Join Stan, Kyle, Cartman and the about-to-be permanently departed Kenny in the series which includes the Emmy-nominated episode “Osama Bin Laden has Farty Pants” when in the wake of the terrorist attack on the United States, the boys find themselves accidentally sent to Afghanistan, where they encounter their Afghani counterparts and try to understand why they hate Americans. Also included in the Fifth Season are memorable events such as Timmy and Jimmy’s cripple fight, the introduction of Towelie and 162 instances of the S-word. The series also includes the hilarious episodes “How to Eat with Your Butt” and “Proper Condom Use”.

Extras are mini audio commentaries on every episode with creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

Also available on 22nd October are re-launches of the first two seasons. Retail is £29.99 each.

South Park: The Complete First Season features all 13 classic episodes from the series’ legendary debut season, beginning with the episode that started it all “Cartman Gets an Anal Probe” – what Cartman thinks was just a dream, actually happened. The night before, Cartman was abducted by aliens and had a satellite going in his ass to prove it. Meanwhile, Kyle has alien problems of his own as his brother Ike, has also been abducted. The equally hysterical “Big Gay Al’s Big Gay Boat Ride”, “Damien” and “Mr Hankey the Christmas Poo” also feature on the DVD and concludes with the outrageous season finale “Cartman’s Mom is a Dirty Slut”. Extras include two music videos (Carman “O Holy Night” and Ned “O Little Town of Bethlehem”) and Jay Leno’s South Park appearance.

South Park: The Complete Second Season opens with the highly entertaining episode “Terrance & Phillip in ‘Not Without my Anus’”. In this season we also we find out the identity of Cartman's father, learn about Conjoined Twin Myslexia and thaw out a prehistoric ice man. This season also includes the classic episode “Chef’s Salty Balls” – when a film festival takes over South Park, it's up to Kyle to stop it before the dramatic effect the festival is having on the sewer system kills Mr. Hankey. Kyle's pleading is interpreted by the film festival committee as an idea for a hit movie. However, thanks to one of Chef's "Chocolate Salty Balls", Mr. Hankey is given the strength to fight back against the festival. Bonus features include Chef’s "Chocolate Salty Balls" music video.
