Sir John Mills' Moving Memories

Carlton Visual Entertainment have announced the R2 DVD release of Sir John Mills' Moving Memories for September 9th 2002 with an RRP of £12.99. The disc has a running time of 55mins and will contain a picture gallery, filmography and biography as extra features. The PR explains the disc content...

"When Sir John Mills started shooting 16mm home movies in 1946, little did he realise that these hours of film would become a national archive treasure. Discovered years later in an attic, this extraordinary footage, which spans 25 years, has a cast list which reads like a who's who of international cinema - including David Niven, Vivien Leigh, Deborah Kerr, Richard Attenborough and of course Hayley Mills

Described by Barry Norman as "a fascinating, charming and indeed unique glimpse behind the scenes of the life, work and times of one of Britain's greatest film actors," never before has there been such an intimate behind-the-scenes look at the life of an actor, considered a legend in his own lifetime.

The footage includes behind-the-scenes shots in colour from movies released in black and white, such as Dunkirk, Ice Cold in Alex, Morning Departure and Tiger Bay. Other films featured include Pollyanna, Swiss Family Robinson, King Rat, Sky West and Crooked and Scott of the Antarctic."
