Shameless Screen Entertainment - New Exploitation Label

Shameless Screen Entertainment - a new horror and exploitation label – is launching on 1st October 2007 with two titles from a growing vault of several hundred. The new label is set to showcase rare delights with the longest, best available version of each film released at the low RRP of £12.99. You can also expect vibrant, gratuitous in-your-face artwork in the style of old eighties VHS market and to help make them stand out on the shop shelves even more, Shameless have opted for a distinctive pulp yellow sleeve housed in clear yellow Amaray cases.

In terms of titles planned for release in 2007, apart from The Black Cat apparently none have been released on UK DVD before and all are presented in their longest ever versions. All offer something different, with the descriptions coming from the press release…New York Ripper is the ultimate in shock gore, Phantom of Death boasts impeccable cast and crew clearly having a ball, Torso is a saw-filled delight comparable to the best Argento films, Killer Nun is quite possibly the ultimate Nun movie, Black Cat is a rare Lucio Fulci film that showcases his skills in atmospheric dread and their version of Venus in Furs is the true sexy exploitation tribute to the S&M book of the same name.

The first title in the collection will be the previously banned New York Ripper; a film so controversial the BBFC ordered the prints to be escorted out of the country in the '80s.

Directed by Lucio Fulci the film sees the cops of New York hunt down a psychopath with a penchant for slicing his victims to the bone but not before he has his fun with them first. The film will be presented remastered in 2.35:1 with English 2.0 sound. Also included on the disc is a Shameless original trailer gallery.

The second title in the collection will be the late 80s giallo Phantom of Death starring Michael York and Donald Pleasence. The film will be presented remastered in 1.85:1 with English 2.0 sound. Also included on the disc is a Shameless original trailer gallery.
