Secret Cinema extend Dirty Dancing dates and set to begin work on Disney titles

Due to popular demand Secret Cinema have announced they will be extending the dates for their upcoming summer production of Dirty Dancing until August 9 of this year.

Dirty Dancing will now run from July 22 until August 9. Tickets go on sale this morning at 9am, with prices starting at £49 + booking fees which you can get your hands on by visiting the Secret Cinema website here.

In other related news, The Hollywood Reporter also revealed that Secret Cinema have signed a multi-title agreement with Disney to create immersive worlds of some of their most famous IPs.

While details about the films set to be tied into the agreement have not been released, it is believed the likes of The Pirates of the Caribbean, Tron, Avengers and Star Wars could be included while working in partnership with Disney’s StudioLAB.

The first show is apparently set to take place in London later this year, which could explain why the Dirty Dancing production is only running for 2-and-a-half weeks.

There has long been talk that Secret Cinema would bring their concept across the Atlantic to the States, and that is likely to be included in the deal with Disney. It is being suggested that experiences are in the pipeline for major cities like Los Angeles and New York, with more to potentially follow.

Speaking about the deal, Secret Cinema CEO Max Alexander said: "Working with The Walt Disney Studios is much more than access to a treasure trove of titles, it’s about bringing together a unique combination of skills and expertise to build ever more authentic and amazing experiences, raising the bar again for what we mean by ‘immersive cinema."
